SPMMouse: A new toolbox for SPM in the animal brain

چکیده
Introduction Voxel-based morphometry is widely used in the human brain for analysing morphology in the normal and pathological brain and is most commonly performed with the SPM (Statistical Parametric Mapping) software [1]. Although some groups have used the software in preclinical studies, this is most commonly by using fake headers with geometric parameters similar to human brains and a coherent, easy to use approach has not been widely available.

Quantitative Comparison of SPM, FSL, and Brainsuite for Brain MR Image Segmentation
Background: Accurate brain tissue segmentation from magnetic resonance (MR) images is an important step in analysis of cerebral images. There are software packages which are used for brain segmentation. These packages usually contain a set of skull stripping, intensity non-uniformity (bias) correction and segmentation routines. Thus, assessment of the quality of the segmented gray matter (GM), ...
متن کاملExtending Inferential Group Analysis in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Multivariate GLM Implemented in SPM8
BACKGROUND Although voxel based morphometry studies are still the standard for analyzing brain structure, their dependence on massive univariate inferential methods is a limiting factor. A better understanding of brain pathologies can be achieved by applying inferential multivariate methods, which allow the study of multiple dependent variables, e.g. different imaging modalities of the same sub...
متن کاملVoxel-based morphometry analyses of in vivo MRI in the aging mouse lemur primate
Cerebral atrophy is one of the most widely brain alterations associated to aging. A clear relationship has been established between age-associated cognitive impairments and cerebral atrophy. The mouse lemur (Microcebus murinus) is a small primate used as a model of age-related neurodegenerative processes. It is the first non-human primate in which cerebral atrophy has been correlated with cogni...
متن کاملImplementation of a new parcellation of the orbitofrontal cortex in the automated anatomical labeling atlas
An alternative parcellation of the orbitofrontal cortex is described for the automated anatomical labeling atlas of Tzourio-Mazoyer et al. (2002) (Automated anatomical labeling of activations in SPM using a macroscopic anatomical parcellation of the MNI MRI single-subject brain. NeuroImage 15:273-289). The new parcellation of the orbitofrontal cortex follows the description provided by Chiavara...
متن کاملScanning probe image wizard: a toolbox for automated scanning probe microscopy data analysis.
We describe SPIW (scanning probe image wizard), a new image processing toolbox for SPM (scanning probe microscope) images. SPIW can be used to automate many aspects of SPM data analysis, even for images with surface contamination and step edges present. Specialised routines are available for images with atomic or molecular resolution to improve image visualisation and generate statistical data ...
